Joan Lehman

Hastings resident Joan S. Lehman was born in Hammondsport, New York on December 20, 1925. She died on Tuesday, November 25, 2014 at Haven Home in Kenesaw, Nebraska. She was married to Gene Lehman from 1945 to 1971. Together, they served as missionaries and teachers in Japan for many years. Joan later moved to Nebraska and founded a recovery facility for rural Nebraskan women. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Ron and Leslie Azure in Carlsbad, New Mexico, and by her son and daughter-in-law, Scott & Reiko Lehman in Chiba, Japan. Also wishing her Godspeed and safe passage are her dear friend Norma Spady of Hastings, Nebraska, two nieces, four grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. There will be no viewing or visitation. A Requiem Communion Service will be celebrated at Saint Mark's Episcopal Pro-Cathedral, Hastings at a later date.
