JoAnn Davis

Former Glenvil resident, JoAnn Marie (Hinrichs) Davis, 84, passed away Thursday, October 12, 2017, at her home.

Services will be Monday, October 16, 2017; 10:30 A.M. at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Glenvil with Pastor Rob Garton officiating. The family requests you wear happy colors if attending the service. Burial will be in Glenvil Cemetery, Glenvil. Memorials may be given to Immanuel Lutheran Church, Glenvil Fire & Rescue, and Mary Lanning Hospice. Visitation will be Sunday, October 15, 2017; 1:00 P.M. - 8:00 P.M. with family present 6:00 P.M. - 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home, and one hour prior to service at the church.

JoAnn was born January 1, 1933, in rural Glenvil, Nebraska to Henry R. & Theda J. (Mensen) Hinrichs. She was baptized on February 12, 1933, by Pastor E.C. Meyer and confirmed on May 26, 1946, by Pastor Richard Fruehling at Immanuel Lutheran Church. She married Richard E. Davis on March 29, 1953; he preceded her in death on July 21, 2010.

JoAnn taught at rural schools in the area, Glenvil Village Clerk, bookkeeper for Farmers CO-OP in Glenvil, and an aide at Good Samaritan Village for 15 years. She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Glenvil and former Extension Club member. JoAnn enjoyed yard work and gardening, hand work, and loved having her family near. She also did lots of camping with friends and family. JoAnn was an avid Husker and Kansas City Royals fan.

JoAnn was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Richard E. Davis; brother, Harold Hinrichs; sister, Ruth Tropello; in-laws, Henry & Marie Davis; and niece, Cheryl Hinrichs.
