Joann Sidlo

Hastings resident, Joann M. Sidlo, 74, passed away Saturday, August 21, 2010 at Mary Lanning Memorial Hospital, Hastings, Nebraska.

Rosary will be Wednesday, August 25, 2010; 7:00 P.M. at Butler-Volland Chapel. Mass of Christian Burial will be Thursday, August 26, 2010; 10:00 A.M. at St. Cecilia's Catholic Church with Fr. Joseph M. Walsh and Msgr. James Dawson officiating. Burial will be in Parkview Cemetery, Hastings, Nebraska. Visitation will be Tuesday, August 24, 2010; 5:00 P.M. - 9:00 P.M.; Wednesday, August 25, 2010; 9:00 A.M. - 9:00 P.M. at Butler-Volland Funeral Home and 1 hour prior to service at the church. Memorials may be given to the family to be established at a later date.

Joann was born June 13, 1936 in Lawrence, Nebraska to Joseph and Nora (Maloney) Kimminau. She graduated from Lawrence High School in 1955. On February 26, 1957, she married James W. Sidlo at St. Cecilia's Catholic Church in Hastings. Joann held jobs with Mary Lanning Memorial Hospital, The Thompson Company, Jack and Jill Hillcrest, Bruckman Rubber Company, Mode O' Day, Sunmart Foods, Russ' IGA, and Allen's. She retired due to health issues. Joann was a hard worker and would help anyone in need. She enjoyed bowling, children, and animals especially her poodle, "Missy".

Joann was preceded in death by her parents; Sister-in- Law and Spouse, Shirley & Wayne Cherry and numerous other relatives.
