John Allan Aspen, 63, of 106 East 17th St., Grand Island, Nebraska, died Friday, January 11, 2002 at Good Samaritan Hospital, Kearney, Nebraska.
Rosary will be Sunday, January 13, 2002; 7:30 P.M. at Butler-Volland Chapel. Mass of Christian Burial will be Monday, January 14, 2002; 10:30 A.M. at St. Cecilia's Catholic Church with Father Larry Gyhra officiating. Burial with military rites will be in Parkview Cemetery, Hastings, Nebraska.
John Aspen was born December 1, 1938 in Yankton, South Dakota to Lester M. & Lucille (Buschelman) Aspen. He moved with his family to Hastings, Nebraska in 1944. He attended St. Cecilia's Catholic Schools and graduated from Hastings Senior High in 1956. He attended the University of Nebraska, Omaha, Nebraska. He served in the United States Air Force from 1957-1968, serving in Germany, Japan, Philippines as well as various United States locations. On July 18, 1964, he married Dorothy Grace. They later divorced. He lived in Omaha, Nebraska from 1968-1972 and in Hastings, Nebraska from 1972-1974. He moved to Grand Island, Nebraska in 1974 where he owned and operated Johnny's Lock & Key. He was a member of Experimental Aircraft Association.
John Aspen was preceded in death by his father, Lester M. Aspen.
