Hastings resident, John Duane Clark, 76, died Wednesday, August 21, 2013 at Mary Lanning HealthCare in Hastings, Nebraska.

Divine Mercy Chaplet will be Sunday, August 25, 2013; 7:00 P.M. at St. Michael's Catholic Church, Hastings. Mass of Christian Burial will be Monday, August 26, 2013; 10:00 A.M. at St. Michael's Catholic Church, Hastings with Father Michael Houlihan officiating. Burial with military rites by Hastings Veterans Organizations will be at Parkview Cemetery, Hastings. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to St. Michael's Catholic Church. Visitation will be Saturday, August 24, 2013; 1:00 P.M. - 5:00 P.M., Sunday, August 25, 2013; 1:00 P.M. - 5:00 P.M. at Livingston Butler Volland Funeral Home, and one hour prior to Divine Mercy Chaplet and one hour prior to mass at the church. Livingston Butler Volland Funeral Home & Cremation Center is serving the family.

Duane was born October 20, 1936 in Duncan, Nebraska to Oliver Howard & Veronica (Jarecki) Clark. He graduated from St. Bonaventure High School in Columbus, Nebraska. Duane served with the U.S. Navy from August 31, 1955 until March 8, 1963. He married Ann E. Schilz on July 4, 1958 at St. Bonaventure Catholic Church in Columbus; she preceded him in death on July 15, 2013. He was employed by Snell Publishing Company originally of Columbus, NE and later of Hastings, NE until his retirement in 1994. Duane was a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus, and 4 Rivers Sportsman Club.

Duane was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Ann E. Clark; and two grandchildren.
