John Jefferson Fellers, 81, of Good Samaritan Center, Wood River, Nebraska, died Thursday, February 17, 2005 at Good Samaritan Center, Wood River, Nebraska.
Services with Military Rites will be Tuesday, February 22, 2005; 11:00 A.M. at Fort McPherson National Cemetery, Maxwell, Nebraska with Chaplin Norval Holtmeier officiating.
Mr. Fellers was born March 25, 1923 in Lexington, Oklahoma to Roy Oscar & Marie Ruth (Thacker) Fellers. He attended school in San Benito, Texas and served in the United States Navy from January 7, 1941 until his retirement on February 29, 1959. He helped launch the carrier ship Intrepid as one of the original crew members. On October 4, 1962, he married Florine Marie Leech in Cambridge, Nebraska. He was a welding millwright and also worked for Case International Harvester, McCook, Nebraska.
Mr. Fellers was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Merle Jane Harpst and a brother, Jack Fellers.
