Hastings resident, John Dietrich Van Lengen, 100, of Perkins Pavilion, died Thursday, August 25, 2005 at Perkins Pavilion.
Services will be Monday, August 29, 2005; 10:00 A.M. at First St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Hastings, Nebraska, with Pastor Robert Mortvedt officiating. Burial will be in Glenvil Cemetery, Glenvil, Nebraska.
Mr. Van Lengen was born November 11, 1904 in Clay County, near Glenvil, Nebraska to Dick & Elsie (Heye) Van Lengen. He married Esther Tjarks on March 28, 1928 in Glenvil, Nebraska and she preceded him in death on January 5, 1988. He farmed in the Glenvil, Ayr, Juniata and Hastings area. He was a member of First St. Paul's Lutheran Church. He moved from south of Hastings, into Hastings in 1989.
Mr. Van Lengen was preceded in death by his parents, wife Esther, 2 brothers, 1 sister, daughter, Ruby Davis and an infant son.
