John Shueey

Former Hastings resident, John Louis Shueey, 86, of Blue Hill Care Center, died Tuesday, June 3, 2008 at Blue Hill Care Center, Blue Hill, Nebraska.

Services will be Friday, June 6, 2008; 2:00 P.M. at First St. Paul's Lutheran Church with Rev. Joel Remmers officiating. Burial will be in Parkview Cemetery, Hastings, Nebraska. Visitation will be Wednesday, June 4, 2008; 6PM-9PM, Thursday, June 5, 2008; 9AM-9PM at the funeral home and Friday, June 6, 2008, 1 hr. prior to service at the church. Memorials may be given to Mary Lanning Hospice.

Mr. Shueey was born September 24, 1921 in Hastings, Nebraska to John J. & Edna (Sieckmann) Shueey. He graduated from Juniata High School and from Hastings College. He served in the United States Army Reserves. On November 4, 1945, he married Ruth Einspahr in Hastings, Nebraska. He moved from Doniphan, Nebraska to Hastings in 1955. He was an engineer for Hastings Industries for over 30 years. He was a member of First St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Hastings Lodge #50, A.F. & A.M., Hastings Scottish Rites Bodies, Tehama Shrine, American Legion Post #11 (60+ years) and Elks Club (50+ years).

Mr. Shueey was preceded in death by his parents and a daughter, Susan Shueey Voboril.
