Johnny R. Johnson

Hastings resident Johnny R. Johnson, 72, passed away Thursday, September 5, 2024, at CHI Health Nebraska Heart Hospital, Lincoln, NE.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, September 14, at Butler Volland Chapel in Hastings with Rev. Rosalie Smith Anderson officiating. The burial will be at Parkview Cemetery in Hastings. Visitation will be 1-7 p.m. with the family present 5-7 p.m. Friday, September 13, at the funeral home, and one hour before the service at the church. Memorials may be given to the family for a memorial to be established at a later date. The service will be live-streamed on Livingston Butler Volland Funeral Home’s website. Johnny was born November 24, 1951, in Jefferson, TX to Revis and Ever B. (Crenshaw) Johnson. He graduated from Jefferson High School. Johnny married Christine Threadgill on July 11, 1986; she preceded him in death on November 12, 2022. He worked at Metz Bakery for 27 years. Johnny was a member of Pentecostal Temple.

Johnny was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Christine Johnson; and brothers and sisters, Revis Johnson, Jr., Travis Johnson, Rufus Johnson, Artis Johnson, Pearl Jones, L.V. Florence, Sammie Moore, and Lee Helen Stevens.
