Johnny Young

Former Hastings resident, Johnny A. Young, 87, of Grand Island Veterans Home, died Tuesday, September 16, 2008 at the home.

Graveside services and burial with military rites will be Monday, September 22, 2008; 10:30 A.M. at Parkview Cemetery with Pastor Renee Johnson officiating. No visitation or viewing. Memorials may be given to the family;

Mr. Young was born May 7, 1921 in Georgeville, Pennsylvania to Frank & Florence (Weaver) Young. He served in the United States Army Air Corps during WWII from October 8, 1942 to January 18, 1946. On June 28, 1976, he married Arlette Watson. He worked at Hastings Industries.

Mr. Young was preceded in death by his parents; son, Greg Young and two brothers, Ellsworth Young and Angus Young.
