Hastings, NE, resident Joseph “Joe” E. Beyke, 106, passed away Friday, February 14, 2025, at The Heritage - College View Assisted Living, Hastings, NE.
Rosary will be at 10 a.m. and Mass of Christian Burial following at 10:30 a.m. Friday, February 21, at St. Cecilia’s Catholic Church. The burial will be at 2 p.m. Friday, February 21, at Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery in Lawrence, NE. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Lawrence Community Center or to Hastings Catholic Schools Trust. Visitation will be 1-7 p.m. with the family present 5-7 p.m. Thursday, February 20, at the funeral home, and one hour before the service at the church. Joe was born August 11, 1918, in Lawrence, NE, to John G. & Annie (Krebsbach) Beyke. He married Norma Pohlmeier on September 16, 1941, at St. Stephen’s Catholic Church South of Lawrence.
Joe was a quiet man who never complained and was a good farmer. He and Norma kept a beautiful well-kept farmstead with a yard full of flowers. Joe and Norma loved to travel on guided tours visiting sites all over the United States and the world.
Joe was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Norma C. Beyke; four sisters and three brothers; ten brothers-in-law, and two sisters-in-law; daughter-in-law, Rose Beyke; granddaughter, Pam Fast; and great-grandson, Seth Brown.
The family of Joe is appreciative of the wonderful care given to him by The Heritage at College View, GSV Hospice, and the clergy at St. Cecilia Catholic Church.
