Joseph Sullivan

Doniphan resident, Joseph "Joe" A. Sullivan, 45, died Saturday, April 7, 2012 at Saint Francis Medical Center, Grand Island, Nebraska.

Rosary will be Tuesday, April 10, 2012; 7:30 P.M. at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, Grand Island, Nebraska. Mass of Christian Burial will be Wednesday, April 11, 2012; 10:00 A.M. at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Grand Island with Father Andrew Kurz officiating. Burial will be in Cedarview Cemetery, Doniphan, Nebraska. Visitation will be Monday 5 P.M. - 9 P.M. and Tuesday 9 A.M. - 3 P.M. at Livingston Butler Volland Funeral Home in Hastings, Nebraska. Visitation will also be at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Grand Island on Tuesday from 5:30 P.M. - 7:30 P.M. and one hour prior to the service on Wednesday. In lieu of flowers memorials may be sent to the family for a memorial to be established.

Joe was born August 25, 1966 to Daniel E. & Elsie (Dickey) Sullivan at Seward, Nebraska. He graduated from Centennial High School in Utica, Nebraska in 1985 and attended the University of Nebraska - Kearney where he played basketball. Joe married Carol Parr on June 4, 1988 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Roseland. He was a member of St. Ann's Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus both in Doniphan. Joe worked in sales for Westering Distributing then Nebraskaland Distributing in Grand Island. He enjoyed watching all sports his children participated in especially basketball. Joe's family and friends were very important to him and he always enjoyed spending time with them. He fought his cancer courageously until the end. He will be missed by all.
