Joyce McCoy

Hastings resident Joyce Elaine McCoy, 84, passed away Wednesday, January 9, 2019, at Premier Estates, Kenesaw, NE.

Services are 11 a.m. Saturday, January 12, at Zion Lutheran Church in Hastings with Pastor Paul Warneke officiating. The family requests casual attire be worn to the service. Private family burial will be at Parkview Cemetery in Hastings. Memorials may be given to the family. Visitation will be 1-5 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Joyce was born March 15, 1934, in Hastings, NE to John & Theresa Helen (Haase) Drohman. She attended Zion Lutheran Schools and graduated from Hastings High School. Joyce married Harold E. “Gene” McCoy on January 26, 1952, at Zion Lutheran Church; he preceded her in death on September 26, 2017.

Joyce was a homemaker and taught at Zion Lutheran School. She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church where she was involved with vacation bible school and social concerns. Joyce was also a member of ARC. She loved to travel, music, dancing, reading, writing, and giving. Joyce loved spending time with her family and friends and loved her church very much.

Joyce was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Harold E. “Gene” McCoy; siblings, Maxine, Colleen, and John; and great-grandson, Samuel McCoy.
