Joyce Peters

Hastings resident, Joyce P. Peters, 84, passed away Wednesday, January 23, 2013 at The Kensington, Hastings, Nebraska.

A memorial service will be held Friday, January 25, 2013; 10:00 A.M. at Butler Volland Chapel, Hastings with Rev. Steven Peeler officiating. Visitation will be one hour before the service at the funeral home. Burial will be in Nelson Cemetery, Nelson, Nebraska. Memorials may be given to Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd or to the family.

Joyce was born July 24, 1928 near Angus, Nebraska to Ray and Francis Worrell. She married Ray E. Peters on January 1, 1943. After raising five children on a farm near Angus, they moved to Hastings in 1969. Joyce resided in the same house on Fifth Street from 1969 until September 2012. She worked as a server for Lochland Country Club, as a cook for the Adams Central School District, at Goodwill Industries and Hospice Home Health Care. She enjoyed gardening, sewing, quilting, Party Line on KHAS radio and her two bischon dogs, Marshmallow and Bella. The family would like to express deep appreciation for the care given by Mary Lanning Hospice and Kensington Assisted Living Center.

Joyce was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Ray; daughter, Vicky Kriger.
