Hastings resident, Joyce E. Weyenberg, 81, passed away Tuesday, August 5, 2014 at Perkins Pavilion Good Samaritan Society-Hastings Village, Hastings, Nebraska.

Services will be Friday, August 8, 2014; 10:00 A.M. at All Saints Chapel-Good Samaritan Village, Hastings with Pastor Charles D. Johnson officiating. Burial will be in Glenvil Cemetery, Glenvil, Nebraska. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Good Samaritan Society Hastings Village, Hastings. Visitation will be one hour prior to service at All Saints Chapel.

Joyce was born March 7, 1933 to Leo and Ella (White) Tegler in Grand Island, Nebraska. She attended school in North Platte, Edgar, and Fairfield. Joyce worked as a telephone operator in York. On November 2, 1952 she married James Weyenberg. They lived on a farm south of Glenvil. After many years they separated. Joyce was an artist. She painted and drew many pictures. Her favorite art was designing and making banners for the Community Presbyterian Church in Fairfield. Joyce sang in the church choir for many years. She also taught Sunday school in Fairfield.

Joyce was preceded in death by her father; step-father, Charles Goosic; mother; step-brother, Gerald Goosic; and brother, Stan Tegler.
