Hastings resident Judith A. “Judy” Hultine, 74, passed away Wednesday, December 4, 2019, at her home.
Memorial service is 2 p.m. Thursday, December 19, at Butler Volland Chapel in Hastings with Pastor Joel Remmers officiating. Private family burial will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Bart Hultine Altruism Fund, 101 South Hastings Avenue, Hastings, NE 68901. There will be no viewing or visitation.
Judy was born on November 20, 1945, in Hastings, NE, to Reuben and Juanita (Spahn) Goesch. She married Barton Hultine on December 26, 1965. Judy graduated from Sutton High School and went on to earn a Bachelor of Science degree in Counseling Psychology from Kearney State College in 1974. In 1981, she completed her Master of Arts degree in Psychology from Goddard College in Plainview, VT.
In 1967, Judy became a registered nurse through Mary Lanning Memorial Hospital’s School of Nursing. She loved her profession and always maintained her nursing license. Judy worked for Dr. Earl Dean in Hastings from 1967 – 1968. Then, while Bart was working on his master’s degree in Greeley, CO, Judy worked as a geriatric nursing supervisor at Bonelle Care Facility. After returning to Hastings, she worked as a psychiatric nursing instructor at the Hastings Regional Center from 1969 – 1979. From 1979 – 1991, Judy worked for Mary Lanning Memorial Hospital as the Psychology Course Coordinator. She was also an adjunct instructor at Hastings College, teaching Psychology and Human Growth and Development. Judy was published numerous times in professional journals and was active in many vocational organizations.
Judy enjoyed working in the yard, traveling with her husband, collecting antiques, and watching her grandsons grow into young men.
Judy was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Barton W. Hultine.
