June Auker

Hastings resident, June Dorothy Auker, 91, passed away Friday, May 12, 2017, at Perkins Pavilion Good Samaritan Society - Hastings Village, Hastings, Nebraska.

Services will be Wednesday, May 17, 2017; 10:30 A.M. at Butler Volland Chapel, Hastings with Pastor Greg Lindenberger officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Hastings. Memorials may be given to First United Methodist Church, Perkins Pavilion Good Samaritan Society, or Mary Lanning Hospice. Visitation will be Tuesday, May 16, 2017; 4:00 P.M. - 7:00 P.M. with family present 5:00 P.M. - 7:00 P.M., and one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

June was born June 26, 1925, in Harvard, Nebraska to Robert & Celia (Paulus) Haack. She graduated from Harvard High School. June married Milford L. "Mel" Auker on May 24, 1947, in Hastings, Nebraska; he preceded her in death on February 14, 2017. They moved to Hastings from Harvard and were married for over 69 years.

She was a homemaker and a member of First United Methodist Church, Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary, American Association of Retired Persons, and Group 2 at First United Methodist Church. She enjoyed cooking, quilting, collecting owls and soft fluffy animals.

June was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Milford L. "Mel" Auker; two brothers; one infant sister; and two sisters.
