Karen Frink

Former Hastings resident, Karen J. Frink, 76, passed away Friday, February 12, 2016 in Lincoln, Nebraska.

Rosary will be Friday, February 19, 2016; 7:00 P.M. at Butler Volland Chapel. Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday, February 20, 2016; 10:00 A.M. at St. Michael's Catholic Church with Father Michael Houlihan officiating. Burial will be in Highland St. Patrick's Cemetery, rural Adams County. Memorials may be given to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital (www.stjude.org) or Wounded Warriors Project (www.woundedwarriorproject.org). Visitation will be Friday, February 19, 2016; 9:00 A.M. - 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home, and one hour prior to service at the church.

Karen was born November 26, 1939 in Wood River, Nebraska to Earl & Eleanor (Bald) Brittin. She graduated from Wood River High School in 1957 and attended Lincoln School of Commerce. Karen married Glenn Thomas Frink on November 26, 1960 at St. Cecilia's Catholic Church; he preceded her in death on March 7, 2015. She was a homemaker and a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Highland, St. Ann's Catholic Church in Doniphan, St. Michael's Catholic Church in Hastings, Mother of Sorrows in McAllen, Texas and St. Peter's Catholic Church in Lincoln. She served as an organist, was in choir, a C.C.D. teacher, and belonged to Altar Society. She was a member of the Extension Club and of Sweet Adelines.

Karen was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Glenn Thomas Frink.
