Kathleen Fastenau

Juniata resident, Kathleen Fastenau, 71, passed away Wednesday, August 11, 2010 at her childhood home where she grew up in Juniata, Nebraska.

Rosary will be Friday, August 13, 2010; 7:30 P.M. at Butler Volland Chapel. Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday, August 14, 2010; 10:00 A.M. St. Michael's Catholic Church, Hastings with Father Michael Houlihan officiating. Burial will be in Juniata Cemetery, Juniata, Nebraska. Visitation will be Thursday, August 12, 2010; 1:00 P.M. - 9:00 P.M., Friday, August 13, 2010; 9:00 A.M. - 9:00 P.M. at the funeral home, and 1 hour prior to service at the church. Memorials may be given to Kathleen Fastenau Memorial Fund c/o Adams County Bank.

Kathleen was born June 9, 1939 in Hastings, Nebraska to Wayne F. & Helen C. (Jones) Beach. She was the first of five children. She attended school and graduated from Juniata High School in 1956. On December 20, 1968 she married Sterling "Rocky" Fastenau and to this union she brought one daughter, Teresa, and he brought two daughters, Stacey and Anne. For many years she worked at the Juniata Café and later for the Village of Juniata as Village Clerk. Following retirement, she fulfilled her time as an in home personal care aide. She was a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church, Altar Society, and American Legion Auxiliary. She enjoyed spending time with her family. Her hobbies included camping, boating, crocheting, reading, and playing the organ. She was an avid Chicago Cubs and Husker fan.

Kathleen was preceded in death by her parents.
