Kathryn “Jane” Johnson was born September 29, 1937, in Hastings, NE to Vance A. and Doris Anderson. She attended Hastings Public Schools and went on to the University of Nebraska at Lincoln where she graduated with a degree in music. Jane was one of the very few people who could say that she had perfect pitch and was an accomplished pianist.

She was a member of Kappa Alpha Theta Sorority while attending school in Lincoln.

Jane married Calvin R. Johnson on August 30, 1957, and they were married for 67 years. They had two children together, Elizabeth Anne Wissing and Chris Anders Johnson both of Hastings, NE.

Jane was involved in numerous organizations in the Hastings community. Those organizations included the First Presbyterian Church where she served as a Deacon and Elder, Chapter G PEO, Infant Welfare Club, Child Development Council, YWCA, Hastings Foundation, George Elliott Book Club, Mary Lanning Hospital Auxiliary, Healthy Beginnings and the Hastings Library. She loved her family more than anything, and she enjoyed spending quality moments with them. Cal and Jane spent a lot of time traveling around the world. She loved her time spent in Colorado in the summers, and Scottsdale in the winters, where her family would come and visit her regularly. She was very strong in her faith and was a fifth-generation member of the First Presbyterian Church of Hastings. One of her true loves was playing games, reading books, and attending the sporting events of all her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Jane often said how lucky she was to have known all six of her grandchildren as married adults and to have had the privilege of knowing each of the 14 great-grandchildren.

Jane was preceded in death by her parents, Vance and Doris Anderson and sister, Barb J. Youngscap.
