Kathryn Marsh

Former Hastings resident, Kathryn E. (Kistner) Marsh, 91, passed away Tuesday, March 29, 2011 at Mary Lanning Memorial HealthCare in Hastings, Nebraska.

Memorial services will be Friday, April 1, 2011; 2:00 P.M. at Butler Volland Chapel, Hastings with Rev. Dr. Lee R. Wigert and Rev. Cindy Karges officiating. Burial will be Friday, April 1, 2011; 1:00 P.M. in Greenwood Cemetery, Trumbull, Nebraska. Visitation will be Thursday, March 31, 2011; 3:00 P.M. - 9:00 P.M. with family present from 6:00 P.M. - 8:00 P.M., and Friday, April 1, 2011; 9:00 A.M. - 11:00 A.M. at the funeral home. Memorials may be given to CASA of South Central Nebraska or Grace United Methodist Church.

Kathryn was born February 23, 1920 in Salem, Nebraska to Clarence & Hazel (McDowell) Stitzer. She graduated from Salem High School. On December 9, 1941 she married Joe D. Kistner in Auburn, Nebraska. They lived and worked in various places in the United States and settled in Hastings where Joe preceded her in death in 1964. On November 20, 1967, she married Charles "Pete" Marsh and they lived in Salem, Nebraska; he preceded her in death in 1968. After his death Kathryn moved to Torrance, California to be near her sisters; where she and her sisters owned and operated a Winchell's Donut Shop until her retirement in 1988. After her retirement she moved back to Hastings. She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church.

Kathryn was preceded in death by her parents; husbands, Joe D. Kistner and Charles "Pete" Marsh; one brother; and two sisters.
