Kathryn Parsons

February 28, 1917 — December 16, 2011

Former Hastings resident, Kathryn Elizabeth (Wacker) Parsons, 94, passed away Friday, December 16, 2011 at Columbine West in Fort Collins, Colorado.

Cremation has taken place and burial will be at a later date in Parkview Cemetery, Hastings, Nebraska. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to First United Methodist Church, Hastings, Nebraska or Home Away from Home in Hastings, Nebraska.

Kathryn was born on February 28, 1917 to John J. & Anna Margaret (Klein) Wacker in Hastings, Nebraska. She graduated from Hastings Senior High School. On October 18, 1935, she married John Buford "Boots" Parsons in Hastings. She worked at Hested's Five and Dime before her marriage. Kathryn was a stay at home mom until 1956 when she started a career with J.M. McDonald Company which headquartered in Hastings. That experience was very rewarding and the start of many lifetime friends. She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Hastings. Many thanks to the staff at Columbine West in Fort Collins who helped care for her the last three and a half months of her life.

Kathryn was preceded in death by her husband in 1996; parents; sister, Maria Hoff; and brother, Richard Wacker.
