Kenneth Hansen

July 17, 1933 — February 7, 2015

Ayr resident, Kenneth LaVerne Hansen, 81, passed away Saturday February 7, 2015 at Perkins Pavilion Good Samaritan Society - Hastings Village, Hastings, Nebraska.

Services will be Tuesday February 10, 2015; 10:30 A.M. at Butler Volland Chapel with Rev. Randy Madison officiating. Burial with military rites by Hastings Veterans Organizations will be in Blue Valley Cemetery, Ayr, Nebraska. Memorials may be given to the Hastings Rural Fire Department. Visitation will be Monday February 9, 6:00 P.M. - 8:00 P.M. with family present at the funeral home and one hour prior to the service on Tuesday.

Kenneth was born July 17, 1933 in Laramie, Wyoming to Willard & Melva (Carroll) Hansen. He graduated from Laramie High School. He married Lois May Neal on April 7, 1954.They moved to Nebraska in 1960. He served in the United States Army Corps. They moved to Ayr, Nebraska in 1964 to raise their family. He retired from the Hastings Senior High School in 1995 from his job as head custodian. Kenneth was a long-time member of the Hastings Rural Fire Protection District and also served as Board President for several years. After his retirement, he worked part-time during the summers for the National Forestry Service in Wyoming. Kenneth loved camping, fishing and spending time in the mountains with his family.

Kenneth L. Hansen was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Lois May Hansen and two infant brothers.
