Former Hastings area resident, Kenneth Leslie Luttrell, 78, of 402 S. Nebraska Ave., Orleans, Nebraska, died, Thursday, July 20, 2006 at his home.
Services will be Monday, July 24, 2006; 10:30 A.M. at Butler-Volland Chapel with Rev. Larry Doubet officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens, Hastings, Nebraska.
Mr. Luttrell was born October 8, 1927 in Inavale, Nebraska to Robert & Mona (Hersh) Luttrell. He attended Inavale High School and later moved to Hastings, Nebraska where he was employed at the Naval Ammunition Depot. He served as a M.P. in the United States Army from February 7, 1946 to September 15, 1947. He married Betty L. Pittman on August 29, 1946 in Lebanon, Kansas. He was employed as a Shop Foreman for Dahlsten Truck Line in Clay Center, Nebraska for 12 years. In 1973, they moved to Colorado where they worked as a couple, managing a large apartment complex. They also managed Rocky Mountain Self Storage in Denver, Colorado for 7 years. In 1989, they returned to Nebraska and managed Arrow Lodge in Alma, Nebraska before retiring in Orleans, Nebraska. He was a member of First Christian Church in Alma, Nebraska and enjoyed gardening and going to garage sales.
Mr. Luttrell was preceded in death by his parents, an infant daughter, Julie, one brother and three great grandchildren.
