Former Hastings resident, Kenneth L. Morris, 87, passed away Monday, April 18, 2011 at the Hospice House in Omaha, Nebraska.
Services will be Friday, April 22, 2011; 11:00 A.M. at Butler Volland Chapel, in Hastings with Pastor Bob Winn officiating. Burial with military rites will be in Parkview Cemetery, Hastings, Nebraska. Book signing will be Thursday, April 21, 2011; 9:00 A.M. - 5:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Memorials may be given to the family.
Kenneth was born July 23, 1923 in Frontier County, Nebraska to Benjamin Franklin & Sophia A. (Noltie) Morris. He graduated from N.S.A. Curtis in Curtis, Nebraska in 1941. He married Mary E. Steele in April 1951; they later divorced. On March 4, 1943 he entered the U.S. Navy, and was honorably discharged on April 9, 1946. He farmed in Frontier County and worked for the U.S. Post Office in Hastings from 1967 until 1992. He was a member of the Eagles Aerie #592 and former member of the American Legion.
Kenneth was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Esther M. Moncrief and Azella M. Morton; and one brother, Howard F. Morris.
