Kenneth Stack

Hastings resident, Kenneth E. Stack, 85, of 1710 Apache, died Thursday, September 27, 2007 at his home.

Kenneth has chosen direct cremation & no viewing. Memorial Mass will be Tuesday, October 2, 2007; 11:00 A.M. at St. Michael's Catholic Church with Father Michael Houlihan officiating. Burial with military rites will be in Parkview Cemetery, Hastings, Nebraska. Memorials may be given to Hastings Catholic Schools Trust Fund. Book signing will be Saturday, September 29, 2007; 9A.M.-5P.M. & Monday, October 1, 2007; 9A.M.-5P.M. at the funeral home & Tuesday, October 2, 2007; 1 hr. prior to service at the church.

Mr. Stack was born May 11, 1922 in Princeton, Iowa to Judd & Alice (Huff) Stack. He attended school in Fullerton, Nebraska and graduated from Albion High School in 1940. He attended Wayne State Teachers College, Wayne, Nebraska. He served in the United States Army during WWII from September 1, 1942 until May 2, 1946. On November 14, 1950, he married Ella Mae 'Ellie' Herbst and she preceded him in death on December 31, 1994. He worked for Rogers Radio & TV and Radio Electronics. He retired from Kansas Nebraska Energy. He was a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church, V.F.W., & American Legion.

Mr. Stack was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Ellie Stack; brother, William Stack; sister, Margaret Cappel and an infant son, John Stack.
