Doniphan resident Kurt Anderson Unger, 60, passed away Thursday, September 27, 2018.

Services are 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, October 2, at First Presbyterian Church in Hastings with Rev. Greg Allen-Pickett officiating. Burial will be in Parkview Cemetery, Hastings. Memorials may be given to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or Hastings College Foundation. Visitation will be Monday, October 1; 3:00 P.M. – 7:00 P.M., the family will be receiving relatives and friends from 4:00 P.M. – 6:00 P.M. at the funeral home.

Kurt was born on January 25, 1958, to James & Billie (Anderson) Unger in St. Louis, Missouri. Kurt attended Longfellow Elementary and graduated from Hastings High School in 1976. He attended UNL and Central Community College before beginning his 40-year career in farming. He farmed in Hall, Adams and Clay Counties.

Kurt married Lisa Trehern on October 27, 2012. He loved hunting, fast cars, Harley’s, his dogs, Parker, Sophie, and Allie.  His many friends made his life full. But most of all, it was his wife, Lisa, who was his greatest love and made his life happy and complete.

He is survived by his wife, Lisa Unger of Doniphan; sisters, Carol Hayes of Rio Verde, AZ and Candice Unger of Doniphan; and his brother, Bob Unger of Littleton, CO, as well as his beloved nieces & nephews.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Alice & Arthur Anderson and parents, James & Billie Unger.
