Lamont Berg

December 29, 1940 — July 1, 2004

Hastings resident, Lamont J. 'Monte' Berg, 63, of 2411 Boyce, died June 26, 2004; 2004 at Mary Lanning Memorial Hospital.

Services will be Thursday, July 1, 2004; 10:30 A.M. at Faith Lutheran Church with Rev. Carl H. Rehwaldt officiating. Burial with Military Rites by Hastings Veterans Organizations will be in Parkview Cemetery, both in Hastings, Nebraska.

Mr. Berg was born December 29, 1940 in Marissa, Illinois to Ernest W. & Mildred A. (Einspahr) Berg. He graduated from Elm Creek High School, Elm Creek, Nebraska in 1958. His employment with John Deere began in 1959 with Chicago Lumber Company, Grand Island. He served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War from November 12, 1963 to November 10, 1965. On May 5, 1966, he married Helen A. Van Cleave at Trinity Lutheran Church, Grand Island, Nebraska. He moved from Grand Island to Loup City and in 1967 to Hastings, Nebraska. He worked at Z & Z Equipment Company for 26 years and was later a parts man for John Deere Samuelsons Equipment Company. He was a member of Faith Lutheran Church, American Legion in Loup City and a past member of Knights of Pythias.

Mr. Berg was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Everette & Bernard.

Sisters-in-law: Lyllis Berg - Sumner, NE
