Former Hastings resident, Larry C. Draper, 69, of 1716 West Louise, Grand Island, Nebraska, died Monday, December 17, 2007 at Good Samaritan Hospital, Kearney, Nebraska.

Services will be Friday, December 21, 2007; 1:30 P.M. at First Presbyterian Church, Hastings, Nebraska with Rev. John H.G. Curtiss officiating. Burial will be in Grand Island City Cemetery, Grand Island, Nebraska. Visitation will be Thursday, December 20, 2007; 1PM - 9PM at the funeral home & Friday, December 21, 2007; 1 hr. prior to service at the church. Memorials may be given to Adams County 4-H Rural Ranchers Club or the 4-H Adams County Livestock Scholarship.

Mr. Draper was born April 17, 1938 in Creston, Iowa to Enid & Harvey Draper. On August 11, 1957, he married Judy Schuler in Creston, Iowa. Larry sold shoes at Wiseman's for many years, owned his own bookkeeping business and was an office manager for Drs. Geiger, Vondrak, Sutton & Welch. He also worked with Drs. Adam, Foote, Pankratz and Fish. He retired in 1995 & moved to Grand Island, in 1999. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Hastings. He served on the Hastings City Council from 1972 until 1980. He received the Adams County Friend of 4-H award and the Chamber of Commerce Aggie award. He was very active with the Adams County 4-H Livestock Auction and Goodfellows. Larry enjoyed working with his cattle, riding horses with Gordon, Garrett and his dear friends, but his greatest pleasure came from spending time with his grandchildren.

Mr. Draper was preceded in death by his mother, grandmother, father-in-law, two brothers-in-law and Dean Stinson.
