Larry Streff

Kenesaw resident, Larry A. Streff, 65, died Sunday, April 5, 2009 at Perkins Pavilion, Good Samaritan Society, Hastings Village, Hastings, Nebraska.

Rosary will be Tuesday, April 7, 2009; 7:30 P.M. at St. Michael's Catholic Church. Mass of Christian Burial will be Wednesday, April 8, 2009; 10:30 A.M. at St. Michael's Catholic Church, both in Hastings, Nebraska. Father Ramon Decaen & Father Michael Houlihan officiating. Burial with military rites will be in Kenesaw Cemetery, Kenesaw, Nebraska. Visitation will be Tuesday, April 7, 2009; 9:00 A.M. until 5:00 P.M. at Butler-Volland Funeral Home and 1 hour prior to Rosary at the church. Wednesday, April 8, 2009, 1 hour prior to Mass at the church. Memorials may be given to Larry A. Streff Memorial Fund.

Larry was born October 24, 1943 in Hastings, Nebraska to James & Laurayne (McCroden) Streff. He attended Kenesaw High School until joining the United States Navy in 1963. He married Mary A. Halte on August 26, 1967 and she preceded him in death on October 27, 1989. He later married Althea Einspahr on July 23, 1990. Larry lived most of his life in the Adams and Kearney county area with the exception of a few years in Arizona. He worked for New Holland and Crawford Furniture in Arizona. He managed Roseland Coop, farmed, and sold NC+ seed until his retirement in 1991. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Kenesaw, Kenesaw American Legion, Big Red Sub Club and was Chairman of the Kenesaw Village Board, currently serving his second term. Larry enjoyed his family, working in his woodshop, morning coffee time in Kenesaw, and his chairman duties at the village office. He will be greatly missed by his family, many friends, and his 'Puddy dog', Skizer.

Larry was preceded in death by his first wife Mary, mother Laurayne, and a brother Terry Streff.
