Larry Walford

Gresham resident, Larry G. Walford, 62, passed away Tuesday, January 24, 2017 at his home.

Rosary will be Thursday, January 26, 2017; 7:00 P.M. and Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday, January 27, 2017; 10:00 A.M. at St. Vincent Ferrer Catholic Church, Osceola with Rev. Valerian Bartek officiating. Burial will be in Cedar Lawn Cemetery, Gresham. Memorials may be given to the family for a later designation. Visitation will be Thursday, January 26, 2017; 3:00 P.M. - 7:00 P.M. with family greeting relatives and friends beginning at 5:00 P.M. at the church.

Larry was born March 7, 1954 in Stromsburg, Nebraska to Lloyd & Lucille (Gondringer) Walford. He graduated from Gresham High School in 1972 and Southeast Community College, Milford in 1974 with a degree in building construction. Larry married JoAnne Klein on October 24, 1975 at St. Vincent Ferrer Catholic Church in Osceola.

He was a farmer in Polk County for many years and a member of St. Vincent Ferrer Catholic Church. Larry had a great love for John Deere tractors. He enjoyed doing handy work for anyone. Larry spent a lot of time following and cheering on his grandchildren at their events. He would drop anything for his family and loved spending time with them. He will be missed dearly by his family, friends and community.

Larry was preceded in death by his parents; brother-in-law, Gerald Klein; sister-in-law, Valerie Klein; mother-in-law, Lorraine Klein - Harbour; and father-in-law, Edgar Klein.
