Laura Jean Hogate, 79, of 602 N. Seward, Blue Hill, Nebraska, died Thursday, September 20, 2001 at St. Elizabeth Medical Center, Lincoln, Nebraska.
Services will be Monday, September 24, 2001; 10:00 A.M. at First St. Paul's Lutheran Church with Pastor Kathleen Kasper officiating. Burial will be in Plainview Cemetery, rural Bladen, Nebraska.
Laura Jean Hogate was born May 20, 1922 in Des Moines, Iowa to Joe D. & Eva M. (Royce) Keller. She graduated from high school in Des Monies, Iowa and on April 11, 1941, married Clark W. Hogate. They moved to Phoenix, Arizona in 1947 where she was co-owner and bookkeeper at Clark's Tire Service. She volunteered at the hospital and also contributed volunteer services during WWII. In 1971, they moved to Bladen, Nebraska where she was very active in the Bladen community and the Garden Club. They became 'Snow Birds' in 1981, traveling in the winter months. In 1989, they moved to Blue Hill, Nebraska and continued in their travels.
Laura Jean Hogate was preceded in death by her parents, 1 sister, Betty Keller and 1 brother, Bill Keller.
