Lavina Hoagland

Hastings resident, Lavina L. Hoagland, 91, passed away Monday, March 13, 2017 at Mary Lanning Healthcare, Hastings, Nebraska.

Burial will be prior to church service on Saturday, March 18, 2017; 10:00 A.M. in Parkview Cemetery, Hastings. Services will be Saturday, March 18, 2017; 11:00 A.M. at First St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Hastings with Pastor Joel Remmers officiating. Memorials may be given to First St. Paul's Lutheran Church. Visitation will be Friday, March 17, 2017; 6:00 P.M. - 8:00 P.M. with family present at the funeral home.

Lavina was born November 30, 1925 in Adams County, Nebraska to Jacob & Mary (Oltmann) Theesen. She was baptized in 1926 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church west of Glenvil, and attended District #72 School until the eighth grade. Lavina married Ivan Hoagland on June 25, 1947; he preceded her in death on October 31, 2000. She was a homemaker and a member of First St. Paul's Lutheran Church.

Lavina was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Ivan Hoagland; son, Lamoine Ivan Hoagland; granddaughter, Janella Marie Hoagland; brothers and sister-in-law, Arthur Theesen and Ernest & Harriett Theesen; sisters and brothers-in-law, Martha & John Coulter and Helen & Raymond Grothen; and in-laws, David Hoagland, Louis & wives Mary Hoagland and Ann Hoagland, Donna Hoagland, Melvin Hoagland, and John Krull.
