Lavina Kramer

Hastings resident, Lavina M. Kramer, 94, of 1123 North Denver Avenue, died Tuesday, June 12, 2007 at her home.

Rosary will be Thursday, June 14, 2007; 7:30 P.M. at Butler-Volland Chapel. Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday, June 15, 2007; 10:30 A.M. at St. Cecilia's Catholic Church with Father Larry Gyhra officiating. Burial will be in Parkview Cemetery, all in Hastings, Nebraska. Visitation will be Wednesday, June 13, 2007; 1pm-9pm,Thursday, June 14, 2007; 9am-9pm at the funeral home & Friday, June 15, 2007, 1 hr. prior to service at the church. Memorials may be given to Alzheimer's Association, Hastings Catholic Schools Trust or Mary Lanning Hospice.

Mrs. Kramer, a grandchild of two pioneer families, was born October 2, 1912 in a log cabin near St. Helena in Cedar County, Nebraska to Joseph A. & Josephine (Becker) Suing. She graduated from Holy Trinity High School, Hartington, Nebraska. She received her normal training for teaching from Wayne State Normal School, now Wayne State College, Wayne, Nebraska. She taught school in Cedar County until her marriage. On October 5, 1937, she married Ivan H. Kramer at Immaculate Conception Church in St. Helena, Nebraska.. They moved from Cedar County to Hastings, Nebraska in 1943. She was a homemaker and also worked in women's clothing stores in Hastings. She belonged to St. Cecilia's Altar Society, Brooking Bird Club and was a 60 year member of St. Cecilia's Catholic Church.

Mrs. Kramer was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Ivan, five sisters and four brothers.
