Leland Harger

October 2, 1925 — September 26, 2006

Hastings resident, Leland W. 'Lee' Harger, 80, of 721 South 1st Avenue, Goldbeck Towers, died Tuesday, September 26, 2006 at Mary Lanning Memorial Hospital.

Memorial service will be Saturday, September 30, 2006; 10:30 A.M. at Butler-Volland Chapel with Pastor Neil Vik officiating. Burial will be at Bloomington Cemetery, Bloomington, Nebraska. Book signing will be Friday, September 29, 2006; 9am-5pm and Saturday, September 30, 2006; 1 hr. prior to service at the funeral home. Memorials to the family.

Mr. Harger was born October 2, 1925 in Bloomington, Nebraska to Frank & Olive (Parker) Harger. He graduated from Bloomington High School and served in the United States Navy during WWII from March 23, 1943 until November 28, 1946. He was in the United States Naval Reserves during the Korean War from September 7, 1950 until November 13, 1950. After his discharge, he was a butcher in Portland, Oregon. He moved from Portland to Hastings, Nebraska in 1985 and was a part time butcher for Nash Finch. He was a member of V.F.W. Post #1346, American Legion Post #11 and the Eagles.

Mr. Harger was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers and five sisters.
