Leo Brouillette

October 23, 1918 — July 18, 2007

Hastings resident, Leo M. Brouillette, 88, of Perkins Pavilion, passed to eternal life, Wednesday, July 18, 2007 at Perkins Pavilion, Good Samaritan Village.

Rosary will be Friday, July 20, 2007; 7:30 P.M. at Butler-Volland Chapel. Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday, July 21, 2007; 10:00 A.M. at St. Cecilia's Catholic Church, with Father Thomas Brouillette & Father Larry Gyhra officiating. Burial will be in Parkview Cemetery, Hastings, Nebraska. Visitation will be Friday, July 20, 2007; 9 A.M.- 9 P.M. at the funeral home & Saturday, 1 hr. prior to service at the church. Memorials may be given to Hastings Catholic Schools Trust Fund or St. Cecilia's Catholic Church.

Mr. Brouillette was born October 23, 1918 to Joseph & Nathalie (Breault) Brouillette on the family farm north of Campbell, Nebraska. After eleven years, he moved with his family to Hastings. Leo graduated from St. Cecilia's High School in 1937. On August 10, 1939, he married Doris R. L'Heureux at St. Ann's Catholic Church, Campbell, Nebraska. Living in Hastings, he worked for his father at the Reno Tavern and The Little Chef Café. During the war, he worked at the Hastings Ammunition Depot. In 1943, he and his family moved to a farm south of Roseland, where he farmed for 20 years. In 1963 moving back to Hastings, he was the manager of the laundry at Mary Lanning Memorial Hospital, retiring in 1980. He was a member of St. Cecilia's Catholic Church and Knights of Columbus 4th Degree Council 11823. He was a past member of the Eagles.

Mr. Brouillette is preceded in death by his parents, one brother, nine sisters, and a great grandson, Joseph Brouillette.
