Leo Heath

Glenvil resident, Leo D. Heath, 85, passed away Thursday, May 27, 2010; at the Nebraska Veterans Home, Grand Island, Nebraska.

Services will be Tuesday, June 1, 2010; 10:30 A.M. at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Glenvil, with Pastor Jeff Glawe officiating. Burial with military rites will be in Glenvil Cemetery, Glenvil. Visitation will be Sunday, May 30, 2010; 5:00 P.M. - 9:00 P.M. with family present from 5:00 P.M. - 7:00 P.M., Monday, May 31, 2010; 9:00 A.M. - 9:00 P.M. at the funeral home, and one hour prior to the service at the church. Memorials may be given to the Kidney Foundation.

Leo was born May 22, 1925 in Clay Center, Kansas to Willard Earl & Emma Ethel (Avery) Heath. On December 14, 1944 he entered the U.S. Navy, and was honorably discharged on June 7, 1946. On May 5, 1949, he married Alice Rogge. She preceded him in death on October 16, 1996. In 1951 they moved from Franklin to Glenvil. He was a farmer and rancher for R Lazy K for 55 years. He was a member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church. He was a very active member of the American Legion in Glenvil and was a past member of the Hastings Eagles Aerie #592.

Leo was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Alice (Rogge) Heath; daughter, Rose Marie Kingsley; two grandsons, Kevin Girard and Robert Lee Girard; one brother, Clifford Heath; five sisters, Lola Broden, Iva Goodger, Lucille Jensen, Buehla Benninga, and Opal Reiger; and son-in-law, Lee Girard.

Grandchildren: 12
Great-Grandchildren: 22
Great-Great-Grandchildren: 18
