Leona Meddles

Hastings resident, Leona Maxine Meddles, 93, passed away Wednesday, March 6, 2013 at Perkins Pavilion Good Samaritan Society-Hastings Village, Hastings, Nebraska.

Services will be Monday, March 11, 2013; 10:30 A...M. at Lakeside Community Church of the Nazarene, Hastings with Pastor John Whitsett and Pastor Jonathan Weathers officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Hastings, Nebraska. Memorials may be given to Lakeside Community Church of the Nazarene. Visitation will be Saturday, March 9, 2013; 1:00 P.M. - 9:00 P.M. and Sunday, March 10, 2013; 1:00 P.M. - 9:00 P.M. at the funeral home with family present from 4:00 P.M. - 6:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Visitation will also be one hour prior to service at the church on Monday.

Leona was born April 26, 1919 in Broadwater, Nebraska to Marvin L. & Sarah J. (Davison) Fetters. She attended elementary school in Beaver City, moved to Alma where she attended school until grade 11, and moved to Hastings where she graduated from Hastings High School. Leona married Don M. Meddles on June 8, 1941 in Hastings; he preceded her in death on September 16, 2009. She was a homemaker and a co-owner with her husband, Don Meddles, of Meddles Electric. Leona was a member of Lakeside Community Church of the Nazarene where she was a very active member.

A special thanks to Perkins staff and Hospice nurses for the good care given to Leona.

Leona was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Don M. Meddles; and one brother, Ivan Fetters.
