Leonard Crick

October 10, 1914 — June 2, 2003

Hastings resident, Leonard E. Crick, 88, of The Kensington, 233 N. Hastings, died Monday, June 2, 2003 at Blue Hill Care Center, Blue Hill, Nebraska.

Rosary service will be Wednesday, June 4, 2003; 7:30 P.M. at Butler-Volland Chapel. Mass of Christian Burial will be Thursday, June 5, 2003; 10:30 A.M. at St. Cecilia's Catholic Church with Father Larry Gyhra officiating. Burial will be Thursday, June 5, 2003; 2:00 P.M. in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Friend, Nebraska with Father David F. Bourek officiating.

Leonard E. Crick was born October 10, 1914 in Lincoln, Nebraska to Harry & Louise (Becker) Crick. He graduated from Lincoln High School, Lincoln, Nebraska in 1933. On April 19, 1941, he married Catherine M. Trumble and she preceded him in death on February 12, 1987. He served in the United States Army during WWII from April 23, 1943 until July 10, 1944. He moved from Omaha, Nebraska to Hastings, Nebraska in 1949, then to Exeter, Nebraska, then to Minden, Nebraska and back to Hastings. He was a tool & die maker and also worked for the United States Civil Service, retiring in 1968. On April 15, 1988, he married Velma Siemsen and she preceded him in death on January 21, 1994. He was a member of St. Cecilia's Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus and Crosier Apostolate. He was a former mayor of Exeter, Nebraska. Leonard and Catherine owned and operated the DLD Tepee Motel in Hastings, Nebraska.

Leonard E. Crick was preceded in death by his parents, two wives, Catherine and Velma, two infant sons, John & Paul, son-in-law, Dannie Reddick, great grandson, Brandon Reddick and a sister, Mary Louise Crick.

Memorial may be given to St. Cecilia's Catholic Church Renovation Fund

Thur. 6-5-03; 1 hr. prior to service at the church
