Juniata resident, Leonard Mervin Dyer, 95, passed away Sunday, March 8, 2015 at Grand Island Veterans Home, Grand Island, Nebraska.
Memorial Services will be Saturday, March 14, 2015; 10:30 A.M. at Butler Volland Chapel, Hastings with Pastor Greg Lindenberger officiating. Burial with military rites by Juniata American Legion will be Saturday, March 14, 2015; 1:00 P.M. in Juniata Cemetery, Juniata. Memorials may be given to Juniata Cemetery Association. There will be no viewing or visitation.
Leonard was born September 26, 1919 in Bertrand, Nebraska to Jesse & Madge (Stevens) Dyer. He graduated from Bertrand High School and served in the U.S. Army during World War II. Leonard married Marian F. Nash on May 4, 1947 in Phillipsburg, Kansas; she preceded him in death on May 3, 1994. He drove truck for many years for Consolidated Motor Freight. Leonard was raised in the Methodist Church and was a member of Veterans of Foreign War, Eagles, and American Legion.
Leonard was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Marian; brothers, Dean Dyer and Larry Dyer; infant sister, Iona Dyer; and sister, Beulah Stehl.
