Leonard Goldenstein

September 27, 1936 — September 2, 2014

Juniata resident, Leonard Ray Goldenstein, 77, passed away Tuesday, September 2, 2014 at Mary Lanning Healthcare, Hastings, Nebraska from complications of a short battle with cancer.

Memorial Services will be Friday, September 5, 2014; 1:30 P.M. at Grace United Methodist Church, Hastings with Pastor Cindy Karges. Burial will be in Parkview Cemetery, Hastings. There will be no viewing or visitation. Memorials may be given to the family to be sent to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.

Leonard was born September 27, 1936 to Conrad & Edna Goldenstein of Glenvil, Nebraska. He grew up on a farm in the Glenvil area. Leonard moved to Hastings with his family in 1950 and attended Hastings High School. He worked for Adams County then Dick Looye Construction until Dick retired. He then worked for Rosch Commercial Builders until his retirement. Leonard was well known and respected in the construction industry he was a part of for over 50 years. He made many friends along the way, wherever he went someone knew him. Leonard was an active member of the Eagles Club Aerie #592 since before 1966. He was also an avid Husker fan. He was an active member of Grace United Methodist Church since his marriage there to Elaine Weavers on July 3, 1966. They settled on a small acreage near Juniata that year where they raised two children, Donna and Darrell. Leonard was a loving and devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He cherished family and friends. He will be dearly missed.

Leonard was preceded in death by his parents, Conrad & Edna Goldenstein; and sister, Connie Leppert.
