Leta Phelps

Hastings resident, Leta I. Phelps, 95, passed away Sunday, September 28, 2014 at Perkins Pavilion Good Samaritan Society-Hastings Village, Hastings, Nebraska.

Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday, October 3, 2014; 10:30 A.M. St. Cecilia's Catholic Church, Hastings with Father Joseph M. Walsh officiating. Private family burial will be in Parkview Cemetery, Hastings. Visitation will be one hour prior to service on Friday at the church. Memorials may be given to the family.

Leta was born May 8, 1919 in Webster County, Nebraska to Millard & Ellen (Berns) McNair. She married Charles D. Phelps on July 12, 1952; he preceded her in death on December 24, 1992.

Leta was preceded in death by her parents; first husband, Walter VanMatre; second husband, Charles D. Phelps; son, Charles C. VanMatre; grandson, Jimmy Jacobsen and brothers, Klyoe McNair and Ovyde McNair.
