Lila Rader

Harvard resident, Lila Marguerite Swanson Rader, 97, died Saturday, October 14, 2006 at Harvard Rest Haven.

Memorial service will be Saturday, October 21. 2006; 2:00 P.M. at Lakeside Community Church of the Nazarene, Hastings, Nebraska with Rev. David L. Speicher officiating. Private family interment Greenwood Cemetery, Trumbull, Nebraska. No visitation or viewing. In lieu of flowers, family is requesting memorials to the Harvard Rest Haven.

Lila was born November 14, 1908 in Windom, Kansas to Arvin & Bertha (Snyder) Swanson. She lived in various communities in Nebraska where her father ministered in the Methodist Church. Lila graduated from Trumbull High School in 1926 and attended college at Wesleyan in Lincoln after which she taught in the Mother's Jewels Home in York. In 1929, Lila married Glenn Perry Rader of Trumbull. They lived and farmed near Trumbull until Glenn's death in 1983. Lila then moved to Harvard where she resided until her death. Lila was a member of the Lakeside Community Church of the Nazarene and was a part of the Methodist Quilting Group and Women's Club in Harvard.

Lila was preceded in death by her parents, Arvin & Bertha Swanson, parents-in-law, Charles & Martha Rader, husband, Glenn Perry Rader, brothers, Wilbur Swanson & Oris Swanson, sons-in-law, Arthur DeWayne Ellis & Ralph William Barnett, step grandsons, Thomas & Jeffory Jaeggi, step granddaughter, Kathleen Ellis Paro, great grandson, Travis Carpenter and great granddaughter, Faith Johnson.
