Lillian Schroer

Hastings resident, Lillian E. (Kotinek) Schroer, 96, passed away Wednesday, January 19, 2011 at Perkins Pavilion Good Samaritan Society-Hastings Village, Hastings, Nebraska.

Rosary will be Saturday, January 22, 2011; 10:00 A.M. at St. Michael's Catholic Church, Hastings, Nebraska. Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10:30 A.M. with Father Michael Houlihan officiating. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Lawrence, Nebraska at 1:15 P.M. Visitation will be Friday, 9:00 A.M. - 9:00 P.M. at the funeral home and one hour prior to the service at the church on Saturday. Memorials may be given to St. Michael's Catholic Church.

Mrs. Schroer was born to Joseph & Sophia (Hlavac) Kotinek, June 27, 1914 on a farm near Lawrence. She graduated from Lawrence High School, and taught at Oak Creek School in Webster County. On June 1, 1936, she married Arthur Schroer at Sacred Heart Church in Lawrence. He preceded her in death on June 3, 2002. They farmed in the Spring Ranch area until moving to Hastings in 1966. She worked for Saga Food Service at Hastings College until her retirement. She was a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church, the Altar Society and Catholic Daughters.

Lillian was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Arthur Schroer; two grandsons; two great-granddaughters; five brothers; and one sister.

Robert Schroer - Hastings, NE
John Schroer - Tecumseh, MO
Brother: Gene Kotinek - Denison, TX
Grandchildren: 10
Great-Grandchildren: 17
