Lilly Dyer

Hastings resident, Lilly A. Dyer, 94, passed away Thursday, June 1, 2017, at Mary Lanning Healthcare, Hastings, Nebraska.

Services will be Monday, June 5, 2017; 10:30 A.M. at All Saints Chapel - Good Samaritan Village, Hastings with Rev. Dr. Lee R. Wigert officiating. Burial will be Monday, June 5, 2017; 2:00 P.M. in Greenwood Cemetery, Franklin, Nebraska. Memorials may be given to the Lilly A. Dyer Memorial Fund. Visitation will be Sunday, June 4, 2017; 1:00 P.M. - 7:00 P.M. with family present 5:00 P.M. - 7:00 P.M. at the funeral home, and one hour prior to service at All Saints Chapel.

Lilly was born near Hildreth, Nebraska on June 25, 1922 to Brunke & Marie Schmidt. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran Church. Lilly moved to the Franklin area where she met her husband, Francis Dyer. They were married on October 26, 1941, and made their home on a farm northwest of Franklin; he preceded her in death on September 13, 1980. To this union two children were born, Ronald Leslie and Jean Kay.

Francis and Lilly transferred their religious affiliation to the Methodist Church in Franklin. Lilly placed her family, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren at the center of her life and made sure they had every opportunity to succeed. She enjoyed cooking for her family and friends with home cooked meals. Lilly enjoyed being outside in her yard and garden and being around farm animals. She was very active in the farming operation.

All of her doctors and friends loved her because she rarely complained and gave them many laughs. Our mom was a great role model on how to live a long life. Her family is so thankful for the time they got to spend with her and they joy she brought them.

Lilly was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Francis M. Dyer; son, Ronald L. Dyer; grandson, Todd Mans; and three brothers.
