Linda Downing

Hastings resident, Linda R. Downing, 63, passed away Tuesday, October 15, 2013 at Mary Lanning Healthcare, Hastings, Nebraska.

Services will be Saturday, October 19, 2013; 2:00 P.M. at First United Methodist Church, Hastings with Pastor Tony Dawson officiating. Burial will be in Kenesaw Cemetery, Kenesaw, Nebraska. Memorials may be given to the family for a memorial to be established at a later date. Visitation will be Thursday, October 17, 2013; 5:00 P.M. - 8:00 P.M., Friday, October 18, 2013; 9:00 A.M. - 8:00 P.M. with the family present from 6:00 P.M. - 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home, and one hour prior to service at the church.

Linda was born August 18, 1950 in Minden, Nebraska to Donald & Elna (Olsen) Ernst. She graduated from Sandy Creek High School. Linda married Robert Downing on March 14, 1970 at First United Methodist Church in Hastings; he preceded her in death on December 27, 1997. Linda worked at CPI - Trumbull branch for 38 years. She was a member of First United Methodist Church. Linda enjoyed fishing at Harlan County Reservoir, traveling, and spending time with her family especially her grandchildren.

Linda was preceded in death by her parents; and husband, Robert Downing.
