Juniata resident, Lloyd James "Jim" Hohlen, 64, passed away Thursday, February 4, 2010 due to the result of a car accident.
Services will be Tuesday, February 9, 2010; 10:30 A.M. at Christ Lutheran Church, rural Juniata with Pastor Greg Volzke officiating. Burial will be in Concordia Cemetery, rural Juniata, Nebraska. Visitation will be Sunday, February 7, 2010; 1:00 P.M. - 9:00 P.M., Monday, February 8, 2010; 9:00 A.M. - 9:00 P.M. with family present 6:00 P.M. - 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home, and 1 hour prior to service at the church. Memorials may be given to the family; a memorial will be established at a later date.
Jim was born July 22, 1945 in Hastings, Nebraska to Lloyd F. & Mary V. (Alberts) Hohlen. He was baptized and confirmed at First St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Hastings. He graduated from Hastings High School in 1963 and married Judy Struss in 1965. He enlisted with the Army National Guard for 5 years and worked with his brother in law doing custom harvesting. He also worked at Hastings Industries for 15 years and most recently at Krabel Cattle Company for 29 years. He was a member of Christ Lutheran Church. First and foremost things in his life were his wife, kids and grandkids. He also enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, fishing, trapping and camping with his family and friends.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents, twin sister, Mary Jean Hohlen, brother in law, Larry Peters, and father in law, Paul Struss.
