Lois Frerichs

November 19, 1924 — June 30, 2008

Hastings resident, Lois W. Frerichs, 83, of 1655 East 'J' Street, died Monday, June 30, 2008 at Perkins Pavilion.

Services will be Wednesday, July 2, 2008; 2:00 P.M. at First St. Paul's Lutheran Church with Pastor Joel Remmers and Rev. Harold D. Stromer officiating. Burial will be in Parkview Cemetery, Hastings, Nebraska. Memorials may be given to First St. Paul's Lutheran Church or Family's Choice. Visitation will be Tuesday, July 1, 2008; 2:00 P.M. - 9:00 P.M. , with family present from 7:00 P.M.-9:00 P.M. Wednesday, July 2, 2008; 9:00 A.M. until noon at the funeral home & Wednesday, July 2, 2008, 1 hr. prior to service at the church.

Mrs. Frerichs was born November 19, 1924 in Kenesaw, Nebraska to Henry & Minnie (Utecht) Berndt. She was baptized on December 14, 1924 and was confirmed on April 10, 1938 at Wanda Lutheran church. Her confirmation verse was Colossians 1:12-13. She attended Wanda Zion Lutheran School until the eighth grade. On November 7, 1943, she married Floyd Gerd Frerichs and he preceded her in death on April 18, 2002. Lois worked for Mary Lanning Memorial Hospital, K & R Meat Packing, was a housekeeper for Charlie Bruckman and served on the election board. She was a homemaker and a member of First St. Paul's Lutheran Church since January 17, 1971 and was very active in WELCA. She enjoyed her card clubs, gardening, canning, flowers, watching birds, Grandma's Bowling League, traveling and family reunions.

Mrs. Frerichs was also preceded in death by her parents, four sisters, two brothers and a great grandchild, Evan Franzen.
