Lois Johnson

Hastings resident Lois Arlene Johnson, 93, passed away Thursday, March 22, 2018, at Mary Lanning Healthcare in Hastings, NE.

Rosary is 7 p.m. Monday, March 26, at Butler Volland Chapel. Mass of Christian Burial is 10 a.m. Tuesday, March 27, at St. Cecilia's Catholic Church in Hastings with Father Joseph M. Walsh officiating. Burial will be in Parkview Cemetery in Hastings. Memorials may be given to St. Cecilia's Catholic Church. Visitation is 1-8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home, and one hour prior to service at the church.

Lois was born July 29, 1924, in Limon, CO to Charles & Marie (French) Burns. She graduated from Sutton High School. Lois married Irwin Johnson on April 29, 1946, in Sutton, NE; he preceded her on August 9, 1992.

Lois was a school teacher at the age of 16 in a one-room schoolhouse. She also worked as a bookkeeper for Bob Sass Flowers, a sales clerk for Geyermans/Crowleys, and Naval Ammunition Depot. Lois was a member of St. Cecilia's Catholic Church. She was very active in Altar Society and Catholic Daughters of the Americas. She also volunteered at Mary Lanning Healthcare.

Lois was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Irwin Johnson; daughter, Patricia Correa; son-in-law, Robert Correa; daughter-in-law, Reneé Johnson; three brothers; and one sister.
