Hastings resident, Lois E. Jurgensmeier, 84, passed away Saturday, January 16, 2016 at Perkins Pavilion Good Samaritan Society-Hastings Village, Hastings, Nebraska.
Mass will be Thursday, January 21, 2016; 10:00 A.M. at St. Cecilia's Catholic Church, Hastings with Father Joseph M. Walsh officiating. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Lawrence. Memorials may be given to St. Cecilia's Catholic Church. Visitation will be one hour prior to service at the church.
Lois was born April 6, 1931 in Lawrence, Nebraska to Ben & Matilda (Kempkes) Jurgensmeier. She attended Sacred Heart Grade School and graduated from Lawrence High School. Lois worked in the laundry department at Mary Lanning Healthcare for 17 years; retiring in 1992. She was a member of St. Cecilia's Catholic Church and Altar Society. Lois was involved with the foster grandparent program in Hastings.
Lois was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Clarence, Robert, and Vincent; sisters, Bertha, Agnes, LaVeta, and Irene; uncle, Stephen Jurgensmeier; and aunt, Margaret Reimann.
